Vuelta e Espana 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Just a week to go before this year's edition starts in Utrecht. Four potential winners this year, and of those Froome and Bertie are in good form and Nibali won the Italian national RR today.

I've created a WHO mini-league on our usual fantasy league site. All welcome. As always, my only aim is to beat defjam.

On a mobility scooter, presumably?

I'll have my team done in next few days.

Expect Team Sky to line up with the likes of:

Froome, Porte, Thomas, Roche, Nieve, Kennaugh, Henao, Pate and Konig.

Team Sky's strongest ever squad unquestionably.

I think it will be:

Froome Porte, Konig, Roche, Kennaugh, Stannard, Poels, Henao, Rowe

But there's s much depth in the squad with the likes of Pate and Deignan too.

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Surely Thomas has to be there? He's become a proper strongman for the team.

True that, I thought I'd put him in but forgot to. Proper hard as they have such a massive squad and such depth.

Ok I'm going:

Froome, Porte, Thomas, Konig, Kennaugh, Roche, Poels, Stannard, Kiriyienka.

All out for the GC. Lets hope Froome doesn't bottle it if it rains like he tends to.

Going with one man less than all the other teams would be taking the piss somewhat.

No Konig? I'd be shocked if he wasn't in.

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Did think about Konig but

Froome, Stannard, Kennaugh, Thomas, Rowe have to be there as they have all been strong.

Porte has helped two tour winners and bailed early from the Giro so should be fit.
Henao is too good a climber to leave out.
Poels was bloody good in the Deauphine and chased down all sorts on the climbs,

One spot to fill

Thanks for that.
I'm in.
Sadly no place for Stanard or Gerraint Thomas.

And I didn't see Jack Bauer's name there.

Great ride from Kennaugh in the nationals yesterday and good to see team loyalties suspended by Sky for the day.

Enjoyed the rather unusual site of Cav being a climber - the poor love looked like he was going to pass out on that final uphill sprint. Reminds me of me trying to get up Ditchling in one go last week in the London to Brighton (SPOILER ALERT: I didn't).

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Will pop team in soon

Heading over to Utrecht for the first stage on Saturday, Overnight ferry from Harwich, then train at the other end, followed by a night in Amsterdam. Be nice to see Froomey leading after day 1, but fancy it'll be World Time Trial Champion Tony Martin (to give him his full name)

Can't wait!

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
I think Sky are announcing their line-up today. Definitely will feature Froome (obvs) and Thomas as they avoided the nationals to do a recce of some of the Tour climbs.

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
Allegedly Roche is missing out, wasn't on a shortlist that got leaked. Seems a bit odd to bring him over then not select him?

Re: Tour de France 2015 (and WHO Fantasy League)
10.30 announcement.

Looks like sprinter Nacer Bouhanni might miss the tour. I had him down as the next big thing for this one. However I've read people are saying there are only five stages this year suited to the traditional sprinters.
